Hormonal Testing and Care

Take Control of Your Life by Eating the Right Foods

As a woman, you’ve probably gotten used to the fact that your hormones are a typical topic for conversation.  From the day you are a preteen dishing the facts out with your friends to the day you and your book club dig in on menopause, your hormones are raging. Unfortunately, for many women, the hormones are either raging way too much or not enough.

According to Medical Daily, at least 80% of women suffer from some type of hormone imbalance.  These imbalances can cause great distress in a woman’s life and are not a subject to take lightly.  Those who suffer from hormone imbalances may experience loss of sleep, change in appetite, emotional mood swings, physical pain, chronic illness, hair loss—the list could go on and on.

If you have suffered from, or suspect that you are suffering from hormone imbalance, the good news is there are dietary changes you can make to help alleviate some symptoms.

Of course, a change in diet will not work for everyone.  It is important to remember that everyone’s situation is different and that there will be different solutions that work for different people. However, anything is worth a try, so here are a few foods you can try in an effort to provide some relief to your situation.

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids- Salmon, Fish Oil, Nuts, and Seeds
  • Vitamin C- Citrus, Red Peppers, Strawberries, and Leafy Greens
  • Healthy Fats- Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Avocado

Starting with these foods will help you get the nutrients into your diet that will help produce (or reduce) the number of hormones in your body. They will work to create a natural balance that will help to provide harmony in your life.
